lighting schedule Empty lighting schedule

ok how long on and how long off? i have heard 8 hours but that just seems like not long enough someone let me know if i am thinking to much and just do the 8 hours or if it varies or other thanks all.

May blues are on for 10hr and my 10k are on 8hr

I have 3 MH lights and I have
1st one on at 11am off at 5pm 2nd on at 12 noon and off at 6pm thrid on at 1pm off at 7pm
I have my acticis on at 9am off 9pm
moonlights on at 9pm off at 9am.

it does. now with the CFs do i want to run them longer because they are not as intense or will the 8-10 hours for the 10,000k ones and 12 hours for the acticis suffice?

You can try it and see if it works for you and if it dont try shorter or longer. If you are getting algea blooms then I would say cut back on the lighting period.

I run mine 8-9 hours, it's not as long as natural sunlight but our lighting is usually much more intense and doesn't vary like real light does from morning to dusk.

sounds good ill try 10 on for the whites 12 on for the blues then the leds the rest thanks guys ill keep you informed on how it seems to be going. once i realize you were right all along ill set up timers for 8/10/14. lol
