Looking for sugestions on lighting for 10 gal for hospital tank. Will be putting in sps and lps. Would 2x36watt cf be enough or the 2x65watt cf? Wouldn't mind a t5 light just not finding anything very inexpensive. Unless a 2x24w would be enough? Thanks for any help.

Hospital tank for corals? Are you talking about a Quarantine tank for the corals or are you actually treating them?

If it is just a QT tank, you should attempt to match your tanks lighting at least close. That will allow them to be used to the light rather than making another move to different lighting again...

Treating and observing of new corals. I did see that rapid led has some deals on led's just not sure what I would need for it. As led might be an option also.

I used a 96w PC when I had my 10g nano set up and it worked good.

I used a 70 watt HQI on my 10gal ushio 20k with a Lowes cheapo pendant, worked great good spread of light and SPS frags did very well under that lighting. As matter of fact Lyle I still have my Icecap 70 watt HQI ballast and pendant,if you wanted to get a bulb your more then welcome to use it till you deside what type of lighting you want to go?

Thanks for the offer Jim. Not in a big hurry as I treated the tank so won't need a light till get new stuff. Been really considering the 12 led kits from rapid led. After looking at cf,t5ho,and halide the leds would bee way cheaper. I am taking in bulb replacement cost in figuring my light. CF seem to $30-40 every 9 mo, t5ho was $80, Halide is $70-80. Bulb replacement is the killer for most of the lights.

I placed an order for a 12 bulb led kit. Getting 8 royal blue and 4 cool white. If its not enough light the heat sink should be big enough to add 12 more led's.
