halide question

How high should one start a upgrade to halide over the tank is 12 in to close and how many hrs would you be running it? 3x 250 hid over a 125. Thanks for any help.

I think 12" should be fine are they on a cable so can lower them later on? I would start off at like 3-4 hours and them bump it up to 5-6 in a few weeks.

I agree. If you run T5 supplementation, you wouldn't need to run the halides for more than four hours a day. It would save on some electricity.

Thanks. One other question I got 15k bulbs and I know the colors vary from bulb to bulb, but it is whiteish blue. Will it burn bluer in a week or 2?

Probably not. 15K is a very nice color for people that want something bluer than 14 and don't have/want actinic supplementation. If you want bluer than that, get actinics, or 20K bulbs. It still wont be quite as blue as using actinics as well, but it's very nice.
