Post by Home_Depot Sun Mar 22, 2009 8:58 pm

So I was bored today so I thought I would make a power center instead of the power strip I had right above my sump. So here are some pictures

Did you tap in to a new breaker or just put a end on and plug into an outlet. I was thinking of doing the same thing and put light switches in also, but i was going to put them on there own breaker.

I am going to be putting it on its own breaker as soon as I can get under my house. I have got to run a wire from the panel to the GFI outlet I am going to put on it.
So to anwser your question, Yes I just have it run to an outlet

One thing to think about with the design is all the plugs fail when the GFCI fails. That means if the heater trips the GFCI, everything on the setup will go down. For some applications that will work but for others it would be better to have multiple GFCI circuits. Just a thought...

Mine it is still not GFCI (I know bad idea) but it is my intention to run a box like yours from the outlets on my AC3's DC8 to make all 8 outlets GFCI protected. It will require 8 cords supplying the box which will plug into the DC8. Unfortunately unemployment has made that project (and many others) sit on the bench for awhile. When I get it done I'll try post some pics in here.

Nice! Im in planning for mine right now, you'd think some electrical person would have built something specific for reefers by now, and I feel for you on the underhouse crawl, Ive got 5 circuits to pull, nightmares lol
