Any interest in balano frags?
I found a great deal on a large colony of balanos, which means I will have two decent colonies, figured if someone wanted a frag I could make it happen. These are non-photosynthetic and must be fed, will open best in a shaded area.

For size comparision it's the red colony in the back
Don't really ever go to Fargo but could ship it, my colony is one big polyp and a bunch of babies, the new one I'm getting appears to be mostly larger polyps but will have to see when it gets here Tues.

I would maybe be interested in a frag, depending on price. I could also bring it to Fargo if Reefer wanted me to. I come up there every other weekend and I'll be up there Saturday...
Let me know the cost.

Re: Any interest in balano frags?
Depends on how we manage to frag it, was planning on 2-3 polyps for $15 or maybe just try to split the whole rock in 4 chunks for $25 a piece. Have to see how fraggable the rock is since I don't have a diamond wheel thingy for my dremel so it'll be old chisel and hammer method most likely. I could buy one I suppose.

I would get the diamond wheel... Chisels risk too many polyps unless of course you are really good with the chisel...

Yeah, maybe I will look around online, locally there's like one option and it's $20 a pop. Is that normally how much diamond wheels are?

Re: Any interest in balano frags?
or u can use a diamond tipped blade on a mini table saw they use them for tile! I used to have one when i tiled alot but got rid of it I think u can get a cheap model at menards or ebay but dremel tip probably still cheaper unless u know someone who has one !

Re: Any interest in balano frags?
Alright well it'll probably be a couple weeks before I feel comfortable fragging them as they need some TLC, nothing too bad but look like they haven't been well fed, already had some trying to put out tentacles within a few minutes of being in my tank so I think they will be just fine. Large polyps and a weird shaped rock, polyps pretty much all around it so it needs to be fragged no matter what, looks like there's 20+ large ones and couple babies. Have to get some pics up later.

Yes that sounds about right for the diamond blade for the dremel paid $30 for mine, $20 for blade and $10 for the arbor for the larger one there is a smaller one for them also.

Yeah, apparently Menards is out of them so I need to look online for a diamond wheel after all.

Re: Any interest in balano frags?
Alright, finally got around to fragging these last night, would like to hang onto them for at least the week to make sure they are alright but most are already throwing out feeders. Made four frags to sell. Will get some pics up in a bit.
1. 1 polyp $5
2. 2 polyps $10
3. 3 polyps $15
4. 4 polyps, 3 babies $25

Terrible pic of frags, top of pic is frag #3, #2 is lower left of that one, bottom of pic is the one polyp and #4 frag, middle is the one I'm going to keep.
