mn zoo meeting

I think i'm going to the mn zoo meeting on jan 3rd. that sound like a cool thing, it's after hours and can see the behind the seans and under ground tunnels and the qt tanks, shark tanks and reef tanks,and i hope see the things like there skimmer, and the best thing its at know charge and sherry just said we should take Brok to the zoo.

Yea we went, braved the snow, at first and then from motley on frezzing rain all the way to the meeting, had to stop 4 times to scrape the windshield and still drove with a 8 inch patch to look out of. not really a meeting though, alot of people so the little tours were short so every body could see them ,it was nice to put faces to names from tcmas, and i got my frags and got an extra one of the pink birds nest (might sell right away) i did take some pics, first when i turned on the camera and the memory card was not there (in the computer still) so i deleted some of the internal memory and took a few pics.soon as i figure out how to transfer from camera to computer ill get them up. i won a few things on the raffle which was cool.

did they do much explaining on the first picture? What are they? Looks like the water gets sprayed over that webbing.

a little about the pics. sorry for not taking more but i forgot my memory card and this is all the internal memory would do.
1st pic-just some holding tanks and there was not much in them, the tanks on the back wall had a few freshwater things.
2-3 pic- holding and qurintine for the reef things, live rock and some corals they got alot of donations stuff that night to really fill those up. they will be having a large reef tank open for viewing for the public(Not sure when its gonna open)
4th pic- some sea horse dragons (i think thats what they called them)
5th-6th this is the shark tank holding and qurintine tank (sorry for the blurryness on the last pic) Its funny how they say bio balls are bad, they had 4-5 of the bioball tanks like the one on the last pic in the center above the big tank.

i was really wondering why they had a sun coral and others. I was like there is a reef tank at the zoo and i didn't even know it! Did they say how big the reef tank was going to be?

i cant quite remeber but i think they said 400- 600 gl with a good size sump(100gl i think) there is water and sand in it already sump was working, skimmer noit hooked up yet. (not sure what kind of skimmer it wasn't there)

wow, that is pretty cool. Talk about a fun job running that system.
