scoly turned trachy?
BEFORE
This coral had a rough spell during my tank take down process. It is in my nano and now looks like this.
AFTER
I know it wasn't the prettiest scoly but I'm still kinda bummed. It's almost like I traded in my hummer for a ford taurus.

Re: scoly turned trachy?
I'm no expert, duh, but when my corals look funky, it's either, water parameters, or different amount of light then before. All the articles I've read, say try placing them in different light until they are happy. If the nano is not old enough that could be a cause too.

I figured as much but still couldn't believe the difference and how much it looks like a trachy. Which makes me wonder what the difference really is other than color. I'm going to have to research that a bit.

Re: scoly turned trachy?
That's not a trachy? Now I'm confused. Common names are awful.
When I think scoly I think of either this kind (tongan)
or this
Trachys
But some people call these scolys

And these used to be called scolys but are acanthophyllia
