Halloween Scarey Build
Well, I've started it. The 40 gallon I got from Dan is getting landscaped. Now, you must remember when I was first into Saltwater, DEAD coral was the thing. You put a thick layer of crushed coral, then stuffed in lots of DEAD coral. Great looking skeletons. OOOOO pretty.
Live rock was not used much in the hobbyist level, if at all.
I bought some of that black expanding foam, filled in one corner and up to the top, and it promptly slid off the glass. I finally got it to stay up, by, you guessed it, more DEAD coral.
I made a pad for some more DEAD coral and some DEAD live rock in the center and the other corner. I will really try to get some pictures this time.
Mystery, the coral, is growing bigger. I will try for pics on it too.
So have a good week, thought I'd scare you all with my Spooky attempt at setting up another tank.

Re: Halloween Scarey Build
I think I want to focus on soft corals, mushrooms, zoa's and palys. I have a yellow tang and Volitan lion coming over from my 20 and maybe the yellowtail damsel. I checked the measurements and I'm pretty sure this is a 45 gallon. It is too tall for a 40 or 40B.
I have two Led "bulbs" One is white and blue and the bigger one has blue, white and 2 reds. I think is rated at par 38 and about 36 watts. I have two wave maker "pumps" a small back filter and a protein skimmer.
The landscape is LOTS of dead coral and a shallow sand bed.
That's the plan, whad'ya think?
PS I would like to see if some of the harder corals would grow for me too.
