Banggai Rescue Project
Cat is out of the bag! My basement build out is tied to this book project - Banggai Rescue!
Won't bore you with details, here's the jist. We're using KickStarter to crowd-source funding. It means you can play a role and get your piece of this effort! You can pledge on Kickstarter - http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/603466482/the-banggai-rescue-project?ref=live - we have to fund it in the next 26 days or the project doesn't happen!!!
Also, I spent the last 10 days building the website - http://www.banggai-rescue.com/

Re: Banggai Rescue Project
Pretty cool! I will jump on board with the KickStarter at the beginning of next month.
I will put up some corals for sale at my meeting on March 24th as well and donate the funds. It is a good cause for sure.
I've always wanted to try being a breeder. How hard are the Banggais?

Re: Banggai Rescue Project
Banggai *should* be easy, and for many they are. For others (like me) they get stuck with pairs that won't hold, and artificial incubation is very difficult. To take it a step further, these days there are many breeders having trouble even getting broodstock that lives (see the virus-related aspects of this project).
We're hitting the Banggai from all sides.

Re: Banggai Rescue Project
Kickstarter has only 30 days...we did a soft launch and started it on Friday, which allowed us to test the process and to gain feedback from our "advance notice" audience, which was put to good use refining our message and the website over the weekend. Still, we have a little shy of 4 weeks to hit the funding goal, if not exceed it (many projects that are funded DO wind up exceeding their goals, which would be great for EVERYONE involved, including our backers).

I'm in. Thanks for letting us know. I don't know how you do all of this stuff, Matt but I'm glad you do.
