Salt Mixes
So what Salt Mixe do you like? I stop using IO (crap) and stated to use Tropic Marin Bio-Actif Salt Mix about 6 weeks ago. Im starting to see alot more color from corals. Colors i did not see befor. Now the bad side is the stuff is $100 for a 200g bucket ouch. I do not have the cash to buy some more and i do not will not use IO no more. So what Salt Mixe do like?

Re: Salt Mixes
I use Aqua Vitro Salinity. http://www.amazon.com/Salinity-Reefs-850-225-Gallons/dp/B003I5XKSS/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1311300199&sr=8-1
Spendy, but I am in LOOOOVE with it compared to the crap I used to get back in the day. There is a smaller bucket of it http://www.amazon.com/Seachem-Laboratories-Salinity-Reefs-Gallons/dp/B0055KZ8PW/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1311300199&sr=8-2

Re: Salt Mixes
I use reef crystal ! I have never tried the normal instant ocean! I tried seachem it was not bad price was a little more than reef crystals ! To me though reef crystals I's all right just have to dose it before water changes to make parameters up 2 par and calcium always starts high it kinda sucks lol

Re: Salt Mixes
I can toss in a vote for reef crystals. I know they have had manufacturing issues before where the salt was off on the parameters but they were usually low, and I mean REALLY low...
I have been using them since I started with good success. I have not tried anything else.

Re: Salt Mixes
I've always used reef crystals or IO but bought Kent last time, haven't really noticed any difference.

Re: Salt Mixes
Same here I use to use GTA's organic salt and loved it, but the cost made it out of line for using, the main issue with any synthetic salt is mixing your salt well before using it because every compound in synthetic salt weights are different and some settle more then other compounds that are added so to keep it consistent make sure to mix it well before use.
I to have gone back to Using RC but to bring my ALK/ CAL down to be more controllable I get a 200 gal pail of IO and 160 of RC and blend them together and bump a little here and there to keep my parameters matched to the Parameters in my tank for less flex do to water changes.
