New Tank May be in the Works
Just how hard is it to move all my corals and fish to a new tank. That is taking a tank down and put up a new one in the same spot. can i use my sand or will have to get all new sand? I hate to have something die on me. but it looks like i may need to do this soon.

You can use your old sand but it might go through a little cycle. Just get a few totes and put your stuff in there and do the move.
What size you getting?

Re: New Tank May be in the Works
it kinda sucked but wasn't really that bad, the worst that i thought was the sand. after swaping sand into the new tank (and i've got the 3-4 inch sand bed withe egg crating and screen to separate the diff. sands) it was very dirty looking and i did not have any filters (just my skimmer). a magnum 350 would have been nice to have, so i had to wait about three days to clear up. other wise i just put every thing in totes with power heads, heaters and lights over certin tubs and let her buck. the best part is no cycling of the tank becouse i used most of the water that i could reuse.

Re: New Tank May be in the Works
I may be picking up a Oceanic reef ready 75g tank with 30g sump and mag7 for $175 used. Yes it is the same size as my tank now but im having more troubles with it. My retrun pump will need to be replace soon. It runs diy 2-4 times a week for a min or 2 befor i can get to. and because of that my water lvl will not stay the same so my skimmer needs to be adjusted 2-3 times a day. I can not run a ATO what just sucks lol

one thing to note, if your sand is fairly old, toss it ouyt and get new stuff. Save a couple cups to seed the new sandbed. You don't want to bring in anything that was bad in the old sand.
If you do end up using the old sand, save a couple cups then rinse the heck out of the sand. That way it will be nice and clean when you put it in the new tank.
