Re: Acquisitions from the weekend
Took these pics shortly after getting everything in the tank. These Duncans are still getting used to their new home.

Very nice. Do you have any FTS pictures on this site?

Re: Acquisitions from the weekend
Nice stuff! Hopefully everything grows fast, especially my hillae yay! Can't wait to get that. I have some supposed AOG's, don't think they are getting enough light, they seem mad, I should move them up and keep them happy until the swap. Did you know if that chalice is a quick grower or not? All of my small chalice frags spread like molosses, James loves them but it pisses me off. How big is that blue tile plug? Who uses those? Never seen them before.

Re: Acquisitions from the weekend
I wonder about the AOG's too. These look different from some pics I've seen. I still like 'em though.
I don't have a FTS with the new stuff. To be honest. I'm really not happy with my aquascaping right now and even less so with all the frag plugs all over now. I'm not too anxious to share pics of it. I think I'm just going to have to live with it though. I tried redoing stuff a while back and what pain. As soon as I took corals out, I couldn't see a thing in the tank. I'll post up shots some time but just keep this in mind. Right now we can't just dump pics from camera into the 'puter so it may take a while.
I didn't ask if the chalice is a fast grower. I suppose it needs to be up on a rock to spread onto but they told T5's tend to bleach them so I should put it in the shade. This was the best shady spot for now.
He doesn't use those blue tile things anymore I guess. People didn't like them. I wonder how hard it would be to get it off and relocate it? I'd like to ditch all the frag plugs but I see how handy they would be for sharing frags too. The tile is probably between 1" and 1 1/2" sq but this is going by memory.

Re: Acquisitions from the weekend
Tiffany, do I want to keep the duncans in the sand? In full light or shaded?

Re: Acquisitions from the weekend
Duncans should adjust anywhere in my experience, I've had them on the sand in my aquapod under 70 watts and now they are in the rocks under my 250s, I've never shaded them, mine were usually in the sand but only because the plug they are on is huge and I couldn't make them stay anywhere else. Yours look like a branching kind, mine have really short stalks and don't spread out like that. Nice sized frag of those, you'll have a big colony in no time.
I know what you mean about the frag plugs though, I love new frags, hate the plug look all over my tank. I would bet you could pop that chalice off the plug pretty easily if there is enough skeleton underneath to not damage the flesh.

Re: Acquisitions from the weekend
It looks like there is sketeton under the chalice. In some spots the flesh doesn't go all the way to the edge. I'll probably give it a try.
Thanks for the tips. The duncans aren't opening up much more than they were so I wanted to be sure I was giving them their best chance to be happy.

Re: Acquisitions from the weekend
They will probably take a few days, when I moved mine to the bigger tank they took about a week to look great.

There are some old ones here:

It has changed quite a bit since then though.
