I'm so excited! Empty I'm so excited!

Post by blennieluvr Thu Jan 29, 2009 12:53 pm

I went to the LFS the last two days trying to decide what fish to put in my nano. We're only going to put one in so it's a big deal, ya know? They had two firefish and a handful of little clowns. Many of you know, I've always wanted a clown hosting in an anemone. They also had a black percula clown. He was hanging around there anemones so I decided to get him (sorry, HD!). He was just a bit bigger but maybe I can put him in the big tank down the road.

So, when I got home I first acclimated the anemone (one of the two RBTAs I had in the 75). Then I acclimated the clown. When I put him in, he went right to the anemone. It was the most excitement I've had in this hobby for quite some time. I've got pictures to post! I grabbed my camera right away!

So...now I've upped my bioload and will need to up my W/C schedule too. I hope I'm not rushing things too much with this tank.

I think Vishnu has some for sale. Melissa (Seafish) had one too but it may already be spoken for. She got hers from Tattoedreefer. I was going to get it from her but mine split that very night. If there aren't any, I'll hold one for you as soon as one of mine splits again.

They don't seem to be this color in any one else's tank but still look really nice. They seem happy, bubble up nice occasionally and eat well. Mine don't get real big either.

Yeah not a percula but they don't come in black and white anyways, only occelaris do. I tried ordering a black and white through the pet store here and got a saddleback. That nem is a bit bleached also, I'd make sure you are feeding it at least once a week until it colors up. It shouldn't be pink/white.

Figures. It was definitely an impulse buy. I was going in to get the firefish or one of the little orange clowns. So...just took the LFS word for it. Should have known better. Embarassed

We feed our anemones a couple of times a week usually and they readily accept food. The coloring has always been like that for us. What else could be causing it?

Mnreefcrazy, Are you still looking for an RBTA? I picked up 4 from Tattoreefer a couple of weeks ago.
Are youcoming to the mtg. on Saturday?
If any interest from other members I will try to disengage a couple from my rocks!

We have. We feed them those...minnow pieces, the frozen food I've made, shrimp bits, etc. They eat it all!
