Drilled tank
Anyone here have a drilled tank out the back. With the hole about 8 in from the top of the tank and a small skimmer box on the inside of the tank ?

Re: Drilled tank
Well first I would get rid of the union and add a compression,if it's a 1" union the ID on it is 3/4" on a compression the ID would be 1".then depending on how much your return is if your only outlet flow is anywhere from 1/2 to 3/4 flowing into your outlet pipe.I would get about a 5" to 6" piece of 1/4" to 5/16" Acrylic ridget tubing and drill a hole on the top back end of your Elbow insert the ridget tubing down the return pipe leaving about 2" above the elbow glue the ridget tubing in with a good epoxy.
the air will get forced down threw the tube and will quite it alot because air won't be trying to force it's way in thre the water out-let.

Re: Drilled tank
If you could Y off right under the Union or if you go Compression right on your main out-let then 45 to your drops adding your Valve in the drop you want to control this would help with Bubble.
a Y might be hard to find though, I'm a plumber so it's kind of easy for me to find off the wall fittings I guess.
Water and sharp corners and gravity forced water will create bubble if it don't have proper venting.

Re: Drilled tank
No I sold my 75 and now have a 125. I will be doing a drilling demo on a 90g at the meeting in a few weeks so if yo can make it that might be of some help.
Re: Drilled tank
I think I do if I cn find them but I used a straight in dump on this tank sound and bubbles were not an issue with this tank because I used an inch and a half bulkhead on this one.danreefs wrote:DO you have some pics ? im still having troubles with this :/Home_Depot wrote:I drilled my 75 and put overflows in it.
