DIY target feeder

Its a really simple one! Use a plastic syringe you can get from wallgreens or any pharmacy (last time my kid had strep they gave me three with the meds), place a piece of airline tubing onto the "needle" end and then attach a piece of rigid tubing to the end of the airline. The total cost is well under $10 maybe even under $5 and its adjustable to whatever length you need.

I used a pipette last night, not long enough so I got my arms wet. I like this idea. Did you glue it?

I dont glue it I just push the ends over each other and they stay.

Try your local area that sells horse supplies to they have a little bit larger Syringes if your target feeding larger foods,usually have full arm gloves too,

IMO: The Julian Spung thingy is well worth the extra costs. The larger diameter syring and the finger holes give you the ability to be precise and release very small amounts. When feeding goniopora its very easy to be too forceful and polyps close up. But the thingy I can be very gentle and doesn't cause to close up. So for me $30 well spent.

I may just have to spring for a Julian's thing. I've been target feeding my NPS with a tweezer style grabber and it's less than ideal. I made a diy feeder but it doesn't work that good.

Yeah and you get extra tips that you can cut back for different sizes of food too. I have many different types of do it yourself feeds,but I do use Julian's the most.

Can you clean Julian's?  That's one of the issues I had with my own.  I wasn't easily able to clean it out.

I have no problem cleaning mine, but I can't figure out how to get it to load the food in'. Duh!

Yep top of the syringe screws off for easy cleaning I take mine all apart every month and I have an old pickling pot that I bring to almost a boil in 1/2 gal of water couple of splashes of vinegar and a drop maybe two of mint extract,helps tame down the vinegar smell. Cook it for about 5 mins
just don't let it boil and keep moving it around or it can warp the syringe cylinder.
and before boiling take off the O-rings to they swell to much and won't slid down the cylinder very well,heck over time the O-ring can get like a hard glaze on it and loose some seal,then I'll cook it for a bit on the syringe and it fluffs back up again.
This isn't Necessary but this is how I clean my Julian.
