auto top-off, what do you do?
For discussion's sake, what form of auto top-off do you guys use and what are the pros and cons?
We used to have a float switch hooked right up to the RO unit in the old house. I finally think I convinced the hubby not to do that this time. (I'm having flashbacks to the water dripping through the floor as it did to me within the past year. There's another thread about that somewhere.) I think we're going to use the same float but gravity feed it from a small reservoir. That way I can have however much water I want available and it won't be able to add any more than that.
Auto top-off is something we haven't talked about much on the forum. So, what do you do? Does anyone have theirs set up the way I described?
Also, does anyone have opinions about how much better it is for the tank to auto top-off throughout the day rather than just manually top it off daily? Sometimes, I feel better about less equipment because I feel it's less stuff that could fail on me.

I have a 3.5 gallon bucket with a toms aqua pump thinngie set up to a float switch. When the water gets low, it tops it off... by the drop. Seriously. Its kinda cool. And I only have to 'deal with' making rodi water once/month for the top off with this tiny tank.
