something different
Some of you know this. I've been dreaming of "different" tanks. I found a really simple yet beautiful tank. I'm hoping others will post threads or pictures of some original tanks they find too.

Re: something different
Here's my real dream. I'm compromising by doing the seagrass and NPS thing. But, they might hold me off long enough to save as I will need a bit o' cash to get something like this going.

Re: something different
The first one, is way too boring and might drive you insane trying to keep it super clean like that. Now the coldwater one is cool. Even I'm interested in that. I love the rocks. I love smooth rocks. If I were you I'd save for the coldwater.

Re: something different
Someone else did a dual nano only theirs is more true blue biotope then what I'll likely be able to pull off. It's even ghettoish like mine will be and I say that in the most complimentary way possible. (Notice the bottom tank has a light too long for it. ) I have to keep my costs down in case my project is a total bust and I have to scrap it or go a different direction.

There are some way cool temperate tanks, etc. on nano-reef.com.

Re: something different
This is really my dream tank. If I did decide to actually have a temperate tank, it would be something like this... I have even thought of selling off my bigger tanks to get one like this going but can't quite get myself to get rid of them. So, I'll just have to start saving my pennies. Jim could build me something like this, I bet.

Re: something different
I feel like I have seen this tank for sale on like a kickstarter type website, where did you find it?

Re: something different
A build thread on RC. I think he just started this tank in December but he may have copied the design from somewhere. Micro Reefs sells small tanks with compartments in back for an ice probe but they're more rectangular if I'm remembering right.

Re: something different
Holy price tag! Looks like it would be a cool (haha) tank though.

Re: something different
I know. I wonder what they'll actually get for it. I am thinking that beast would really suck up the kilowatts so it's probably not a good idea right now even if the price were less. One day I will try coldwater but it will likely be in a small 7gish tank. It about makes me sick that this one is so close and yet so far. LOL It's actually pretty decent looking for a lobster tank too.
