Mystery Solved?
Hi, I was looking at a British Saltwater magazine the other day, and believe I have found the answer to my new coral. I bumped it, and it does have a inner skeleton. Anyway, the magazine showed an almost identical picture of what I have. Soooo... it looks like mine is a Black Sun Coral! Same golden center, mouth and neon green pointy tentacles. Thanks for looking for me. Hope I've solved this one.

Re: Mystery Solved?
Those need feedings to survive, also couldn't see one popping up like this did but who knows. Usually non photo corals like that will open at night and close during the day, where a pest anemone would do the opposite so that might be something to pay attention to.

Re: Mystery Solved?
I haven't noticed the day night thing. But do pest anemones have a hard skeleton? This one does.

Re: Mystery Solved?
Not just goo, it does have a hard skeleton. Most recent ID indicates a short tentacle green plate coral. Not a sun coral. Holmes, where are you when I need you?
