Make sure you stop if you see cyno and hair algae growing faster. It is an indication you don't have the right bacteria in your tank to feed the vodka to or you are not having enough air exchange via skimming or surface agitation.

Good luck with the vadka dosing. I have been thinking about using those np bio pellets and posted a link to RC that I finished reading(47 pages) sounds easier than vodka but a little more exspensive.

Re: Well here I go..
Well it has been about a week since I started to dose vodka and I must say that I can really see a color differance in my corals. The HA does not seem to be getting much better but it has been only a week. I think it is diying tho cause there is alot of it floating around and the skimmer is pulling some really good(or bad) stuff out.. I took a pic of my tank before I started and will take one at the end of the 2nd week and see if I can see a change and will post them. Just thought I would give an update if anyone cares.....lol...lol
Re: Well here I go..
How much are you dosing per gal per day? This was an interesting article: www.qualitymarine.com/News/Feature-Articles/Gimme-a-Vodka%2C-on-the-Live-Rocks%2C-with-a-Splash-of-Heavy-Skimming.-(03/30/10)

Re: Well here I go..
Well I have not really notices much change in the tank latley. I did not have any nitrate problem it was more so the po4...that might be linked to it but not sure. and the po4 kit are useless imo. I dont think the HA is getting worse but at the same time not getting better either. but it is also summer time and not a lot of time gets spent in the house..
Re: Well here I go..
What kind of fish load do you have in your tank Now? sorry been awhile since I've seen your tank. and do you get a pretty good dust storm going when you baste your LR ? and how deep is your sand bed? if over 3" how strong is your clean up crew? and if below 3" and you don't have enough detritus eating critters, are you sure your sand bed isn't turning into a Land fill?
Re: Well here I go..
I only have like 6 fish, my sand bed is about 2" and I get a little bit of detritus off my rock. my cuc is not what it shoud be. I do have a sand siffter star in there and he is doing good.
Re: Well here I go..
Well if you don't have a build up of Debris and your Not over feeding and your Lighting if remembered was just changed And No 6 fish in your tank as established as it is your ecosystem should be nice and strong, what kind of TDS reading are you getting? and have you ever tested for Iron?
