do a lot of research before buying them. Require delicate care for long term health.

Like Phil says, research, read everything. You might have to go to the "World of Fish" in the cities. Down by the airport, a block off of 77 which goes by the Mall of America. Call first to make sure they have them.

Most places down there can or do have horses. SF SWE WOF, not sure if I've seen any at OD.

Re: WTB...Seahorses
Respectfully, I think you mean the singular Seahorse.com? - overpriced in my humble opinion. Yes, they sell top quality seahorses, but still, the same quality can be had for less. A lot less. Anyone who wants $69.00 for a Banggai Cardinalfish, or $59 for an Ocellaris (yes, a $59 nemo) has more than earned the label "overpriced".
Talk to Dan Underwood @ www.SeahorseSource.com - tell him Matt Pedersen sent you. More variety (of legitimate species available) at more reasonable prices. Ocean Rider (Seahorse.com) seems to be really making more money on tours of their facility than anything else these days. I can't fault them for deciding that sales are not a priority, resulting in their asking an outrageous premium to sell something to you, but nevertheless...you worked hard for your money, and to pay their asking prices without knowing your other options would be irresponsible on your part, and arguably 'highway robbery' on theirs. I'm all for folks making a buck - I purchased fish from Ocean Rider when their prices were maybe 50% of what they are now. I prefer to support the more down-to-earth Dan Underwood, especially since he'll show your hard-earned cash more respect.
FWIW,
Matt

Yes, going to seahorse.org might be a way to connect with a smaller breeder
FWIW, I miss my ponies. When I had my Barbouri, they were ALWAYS the first thing that anyone noticed...the spawning Onyx Percs got no respect. Everyone liked the seahorses.
