So I have been coming home and finding all of the anenomes splitting. Today i found the long tentical green split in two in the frag tank. Two days ago my one rbta split into 3. I am not real sure why they have been, i looked threw my graphs on my aquacontroller and there is no spikes. well it is neat in any event.

Cool! Just in time for the swap! Unless you're keeping 'em all. You've got the room I suppose.

Don't you have to be careful not to tear them? They seem so fragile, maybe they are tougher than they seem. So what is a "Rock Anemone"?

Yeah you have to be careful moving them not to damage although a slight tear will often just cause a stressed split. A rock anenome is a small, lower light needing nem, you can usually get them from Florida collecters like Sealife, they are pretty cheap, come in a few colors, don't host clowns but also don't tend to move around as much. Pretty easy to keep compared to most nems. Do ok under higher pc lighting like you have.

Clowns will host rock nems. A guy had rock nems at the TCMAS swap with clowns in the same tank. The clowns were all over the nems in love lol

So a green Long Tentacle split? Nice! Usually all I ever hear about splitting are RBTA's...

Actually, those saddlebacks in Paul's bown display never touched those
rock anemones if you paid close attention - I sat and watched those
clowns at great length. Not to mention they were totally breaking down
and stressing out by the end of the day (stringy slime coming off those
clowns).

If you were ever trying to get a clown that might host in "anything",
the best one to try is A. clarkii...in the wild, it hosts the highest
number of anemone species out of all the clownfish, which means they're
not as particular about their hosts. I.e. more likely to see them
hosting in a Condylactis than any other species of clownfish. Scott
Michael writes a lot more about this in his Damsel book...
