So some good things happened today, my stepdad is back in town and put to work building me a wall. I had to talk him out of putting a million center supports, he doesn't realize just how strong a well built stand is. I really had to explain that I need to be able to work under there and can't do that between a bunch of supports. So far we have a half wall up, drywall on James' game room side (well, we never eat there so why make it a dining room before anyone asks). Pete, my stepdad, came up with the idea of putting a countertop on because I wanted a lip, it looks pretty nice and if we get tired of fish tanks it'll become a bar instead.

Here's the progress pics so far.

We still have to paint, put in new carpet on the living room side, take out all the carpet on the game room, paint some more, wire everything, finishing work and come up with a lot of $$$$ for tank equipment. But....I have a wall so that's a step anyways. Let me know any thoughts, critiques, etc, this is my first real tank build and mostly flying by the seat of my pants, I don't get the technical details and am the one stuck doing research.

Hey Tiff looks great are you adding more outlets on the wall for lights pumps ect. or just using outlet strips. and is that real wood flooring ? it looks nice under the stand. cant wait to see the progress when we come up there.

Yeah I'm adding more outlets, I'm planning for around a dozen plugins. And it's hardwood under my old wool carpet, it's all getting pulled up on the other side and the tank side will get new carpeting. It's in pretty good shape except you can see circles from the pad under the carpet that are imprinted on it still. But so far not beat up or missing boards, it's wood flooring all through my house but the upstairs has a lot of gouges in it from furniture. Still looked better than the awesome bright colored shag that was over it though!

Ok, tank is on the stand, walls are almost done painting and we ripped up the carpet on one side. Progress has been made but the tank is still very empty. Here's the update pics.
