Re: New Plumbing
bulkhead is at the top about 5-6 in from the top. My flow is way to fast from the main tank to the sump so i get the toilet sound and lots of bubbles in the sump and its loud. I have a ballvalve on the drain to trun it down but if the power gos out and back on the timing is of so 1 or 2 thangs can happen (1 to fast flow back to the main tank and brun up pump) or 2(to fast flow back to sump with lots of air bubbles )Home_Depot wrote:What is it doing again??
And were are the bulkheads at (top or bottom)

Re: New Plumbing
Do youhave a ball valve on your return?? I was always told that if yo have a pump that is pumping to much water that you will get more flow down your return which would make the toilet sound but if you turn down the flow rate it will slow the flow down, make sence?? I had the same problem on my 75 when I drilled it but I just took a 90 degree elbow off of the bulkhead in the tank and pointed it down.I will see if I can find any pictures of what I am tring to say. I have it in my head but writing it so someone can understand is another thing.

Go to this link http://www.frozenocean.org/search.forum?search_id=1242656363&search_current=Home_Depot&start=75 and scroll down to the plumbing part you can kind of see what I was tlking about. this is my tank now but it kind of has the same set up. I will try and post some better pic of the 90 thing tomorrow

Re: New Plumbing
OK check out this site it is durso stand pipe and kind of what I did but where the "T" is at were the 90 goes in that 90 would go into your bulkhead. and then you could drill a hole in the top of the 90 and run some ridgid airline tube up for a way for the air to escape

Re: New Plumbing
yeah I suggested the 90 with the ridget tubing this Durso has used this method for years and it's really quited down my tanks also I usually use over sided bulkheads so I can use any size pump I need and this way my flow has plenty of room and I don't have to worry about air locking in my overflow so I don't get that toilet sound. and I've never had to control my flow with a Valve.
but I use 45 degrees and compressions too.

Re: New Plumbing
It is hard but not as hard as pvc you. umm kind of like one of them coffee stir straws. or if you have a ro unit it is kind of like the tubing for that.

Re: New Plumbing
All you have to do is get it in there just enough to seal it with silicone so I would say about 1/4 inch.
Re: New Plumbing
I thought I explaned this to you in your other post but if your just worried about bubbles just add a sock on the end of your out-let

Re: New Plumbing
Time to vent I hate my tank lol will the plumbing. Over the last 2 weeks my timeing from the drain and retrun or just off. 1 min i hear the tolit sound in the overflow and then later the same day i will hear my retrun pump running dry. For the guys that do not know i drilled my tank with 1 hole. man it was running so good for so long and now this. Makes me wana get a 75g RR or a 90gRR to replace it but that will be alot of work.
