worst equipment survey
If you could ask for your money back from just one piece of reef equipment you have purchased, what would it be? In other words, what is the worst piece of junk you have bought?

For me, brand new coralife pc's. I went off of advice from someone else whom I don't need to say. Worst couple of hundred I spent.

Re: worst equipment survey
To be honest I don't think I have bought anything equipment wise that turned out to be total junk... Closest thing would be a couple timers that sucked from Walmart. I also did have some inexpensive pumps, but they were cheap and lasted 2 years before burning out...

One of those honky big LED screw in lightbulbs. $129 I didn't like the colors, the light was too focused and it was so heavy it's stand fell over into the tank. SMOKE and fire. BZZZZT. Shouldn't have listened to myself. What was I thinking?

Powersweeps!!! Remember those, they all quit sweeping. Sadly I still have one because it runs, I use it to mix water or in case of emergency and every now and then it will move still haha. I also had crushed coral with my undergravel filter back in the day. How embarrassing.

Hey, don't feel bad, crushed coral was the latest innovation in it's time. I had it too. Technology continues to change. Who'd even heard of clean-up crews back then?

My tank.
I'd return the hobby. I KNOW I've spent around 10k on it, and my tank looks crappy because I don't have time lately for it!
