75 gal setup help please!
I now have a willing plumber for a tank I bought in July; 75 gal plumbed with a bunch of different things like a R/O setup, a sump with bioballs…now I just need help putting it all together for the plumber. My 55 is not plumbed and I am using a sea clone so this is all new to me. If I take pictures of everything can you all tell me what goes where so I can in turn tell the plumber?

Umm, I'm no good at this sort of thing-but first I DO know that you have to decide what sort of overflow you want.
Otherwise, this is just a shameless bump.

Sorry, I must quickly lookup types of overflow set ups. I don't know what a shameless bump is either. Thanks for replying so quickly!

Re: 75 gal setup help please!
I take it this 75 is RR? and first helpful suggestion ditch the Bioballs,There just phosphate builders, and look at upgrading soon to a better Skimmer.
Re: 75 gal setup help please!
I will be using a plexiglass Amiracle Sump that fits under the 75's cabinet which also is holding the infamous blue bio balls! An Oceanic Plus Series Model 4 sump, a 3000 RPM Little Giant Pump and a 3 canister RO + DI water system. It was a beautifully working set up, unfortunately I never saw it together and don't really know how to guide the plumber to get it set up again. I understand the reasoning behind the overflow, sump and R/O but I still need serious guidance por favor!!

If you post pics I'm sure someone should be able to help. But with not knowing what you have to work with it kinda hard.

Hello CFL (shortened the husbands term to an acronym) do you still need advise on plumming? If you want to call and talk about this it could be helpful. I live in Duluth. If you want to bake a pan of brownies you could have a "tank build" and invite club members for a saturday meeting. They will bring their tools, and more importantly expertise and have you up and going before you can say "who wants more?" If you want to call sometime I carry my cell and I make a living walking things through on the phone, 218 721 4692
Questions above, is the tank drilled (RR = reef ready) indicating some method of taking a pipe through the walls or floor of your 75 to get the water down to your refugium/sump. If it is not drilled then you must use an "overflow" to siphon your water down and up. Do you have any books on tank setup? If not the internet has about a bazillion pictures and drawings of various setups. Other people have posted pictures step by step. You have only to "speak friend" and the door will open.

Re: 75 gal setup help please!
Nick I remember you being very helpful when I met you so thank you for responding, I would post pictures but haven't figured that out yet, seems some people post right to the site but in the instructions it says I need to create a site for my pictures for people to go to, is this correct?
My tank is drilled and the guy I bought it from had it up and running but before I saw it of course! He has since moved to Hawaii!! I just need guidance, it is on the other side of the wall of the boiler room so cutting through the wall is no biggy. I will try to ring you today, thanks Nick! Starr

Re: 75 gal setup help please!
Wow Starr, good job with the photos. I have a link that shows a general set up. From the pictures it looks like an amazing custom set up. Will you put most of the plumbing in the boiler room. It would obviously all fit under the 75 but if you have the room it is nice to have a bit of elbow room to work. The R.O. filtration system could have it's own reservoir, (grey Brute trash can, new) my ATO has stuck a few times and a few gallons is annoying, a hardline to supply can crash your tank and flood the room. Anyway, look at this link, I will study the pictures some more. I have a meeting in the a.m. till 11:00 I would guess. Ok to call after that.

Re: 75 gal setup help please!
Just take it one step at a time. Your pump is an external pump and goes on the bulkhead exiting the right side of your sump the gray fitting. The pump will lay on the floor of the stand to the right of the sump. There will be a pipe that will go up from the pump exit back to the aquarium. Are there more pipes that are not shown? Pipes or pipe will go from the overflow back down into the sump. The skimmer can be inside the sump, I thought I caught a glimpse of stubs of pipes inside for that purpose.

Thank you Swanwillow!!
Yup, only stubs of pipes, that is one part of the project I need help with. Also I cannot find the radio that will change my signature from taking up space and boring peeps.
