ways to dose calcium

What ways do you folks use to dose calcium. I have to dose every other day with API. I do not want to get a reactor though. Purple up gets it up there too but not to effective. Just lookin for some hints.

I use prestone driveway heat for my Ca. I have not had to dose for well over 2 months because my Ca level is about 500.

You can also buy Ca Supp. from Bulk Reef Supply down in the cities. They are very nice and cheap.!!!

how much of that prestone drivway heat do you use?

holy what!!! prestone, garrett i know you are not kidding and i am not being sarcastic but i have never heard of that. Where do you think i could find an article on that out of pure curiousity.

Well, I don't have the time right now to read that whole article...so you don't add it by itself? How much do you dose and how often? I remember you telling Alan and I that you did that when we were on our way to Andre's to pick up our stuff. I forgot all about it. Give us the step-by-step, play-by-play...

it is pretty much crazy the things we substitute in our reef tanks.

Like garret suggested I use Bulk reefsupply.com

(Alk) Sodium Carbonate.
(Calcium) Calcium Chloride.
(Magnesium) Magnesium Chloride,Magnesium Sulfate.

One Gallon (7 pounds) of each I listeted will last me well over a year maybe 2. using my reactor.

I use to use B-Ionic but I can't see me paying them for RO/DI water I already have.

read threw two pages and they talk about prestone not being acceptable due the bromine they use since 2005 dec. Randy explains he needs to update his article. I just wanted you to know garrett because i dont want you to harm your tank man.
