I am getting a 6 bulb T5 fixture and i'm not sure how many of the different types of bulbs to get. i was thinking 3 actinic and 3 midday. Anyone have a better idea?

Huge thread from one of the forums I frequent with pictures of various bulb combinations for T5 lighting.

I personally run 2 ATI Blue+, 1 ATI AquaBlue Special and 1 ATI Purple+ in my 4-bulb fixture, but my choice is pretty hard set because of lighting needs. with a 6 bulb you have more flexibility.

Generally 4 Blue+'s 1 AB special and 1 GE6500k for a 14K look seems to be the most common recommendation for a 6 bulb.

I don't know hardly anybody that runs actinic's in a T5 anymore because the PAR dropoff is so significant.

Look for anything that The Grim Reefer says in that thread, pretty much the Go-To guy on T5 lighting.
